About us

Talent and hard work go hand in hand, and the result of this action is success.

Our history

Our history with horses has spanned nearly thirty years. It started as it starts in most cases. It was our parents who instilled in us a passion and love for horses, and it is thanks to them that we are now in the coolest profession in the world.

At the very beginning of our adventure with horses, it turned out that both Iza and Tom had the most fun with dressage. The first competitive successes came, which motivated them to continue working. Then medals of the Silesian Championships, medals of the Polish Championships, appointments to the National Team.

At the very beginning of the adventure with horses, it turned out that both Iza and Tom had the most fun with dressage. The first competitive successes came, which motivated them to continue working. Then medals of the Silesian Championships, medals of the Polish Championships, appointments to the National Team.

Over the years of their competitive career, they had the opportunity to train with many outstanding Polish coaches and referees, without whom their current success would not be possible. At the beginning of their career Andrzej Salacki, Jaroslaw Poreba and Ela Morciniec, then Anna Piasecka, Wojciech Markowski or Waclaw Pruchniewicz.

In the past they represented the colors of KJ Drama Zbroslawice and LKJ Deresz Siemianowice. Since 2000 they have been continuously with KJ Lider Radzionków, which since its inception has been among the top three dressage sports clubs in Poland. During these several years spent in the Radzionków club, they have contributed to winning many Polish Championship medals.

There was also time to work abroad. For two years Tomek was associated with the German Bonhomme stable located near Berlin. This time allowed Tomek to develop contacts beyond our western border, and despite multiple offers of work abroad, it was fate that decided for Tomek on his return to Poland. While in Germany, he had the opportunity to work with two-time Olympic medalist Horst Koehler. His paths also crossed with Katherine Reinbaum and Falk Rosenbauer.

Luke, like Iza and Tom, was encouraged to horses as a child by his parents. It was only brotherly inspiration in 2008 that made him interested in horses for good. At the moment he shares the family passion for dressage with Iza and Tomek and their children Gosia and Philip. Around this time, the idea of “Kowalcy Konie” is formed, which slowly, due to the multitude of foreign connections, is metamorphosing into “Team Kowalski”.

In 2015-2016, Tomasz and his horse Ragitme make history as one of the most promising pairs, succeeding in arenas in Europe. The results quickly translate into nominations to the National Team in the Senior category or a medal at the Polish Championships, as well as a high position in the Central European Olympic ranking. At the same time, Tomasz begins working with one Johen Rothlaitner, a leading Austrian rider at the Spanish Riding School in Vienna.

Both Iza and Tomek try to keep abreast of world trends in dressage, which they successfully pass on to their charges. The number of medals they have won as coaches is very long and difficult to enumerate. Among the most important successes of their coaching career are medals in championships in children and youth categories (Anna Bielak, Barbara Kapsa, Kinga Kwiecińska, Mateusz and Michal Cichoń, Marta Madej, Joanna Miłosz, Wiktoria Parkitna, Filip Kowalski, Gosia Kowalska) and in seniors (Katarzyna Klein, Łukasz Wituchowski). They conduct trainings almost all over southern Poland from the Carpathian Mountains to the Sudetenland (Silesian, Malopolska, Lower Silesia, Opole, Podkarpackie provinces), and their resume includes trainings abroad (Greece, Czech Republic). They also often host riders from other areas of Poland during multi-day clinics.

In 2016, one of our greatest common dreams is realized – on nearly 2ha our own stable with stalls for 32 horses is being built.

2015

2025

Trainers and riders strive to stay abreast of world trends in dressage, which they successfully pass on to their charges. In 2015-2025, the biggest influence on their equestrian development is primarily Jonny Hilberath, the German dressage trainer, who has been a guest at our stable several times, and our riders are repeatedly hosted at his center in Abbendorf.

The Silesia Dressage Club, founded by us in 2016, since the beginning of its establishment has been in the leading position in Silesia and is in the TOP 3 of the Polish Equestrian Federation’s rankings when it comes to dressage clubs in Poland. Our riders not only trump in the rankings of the Polish Equestrian Federation, but are also often highly ranked in the FEI rankings and, as members of the National Team, regularly represent Poland at the European Championships.

In 2020 Philip changes age categories and moves up to Seniors starting competitions on Bel Fleur. First the pair make their way through low-round competitions to quickly start competing in Under 25 competitions, which over the next few years bring, among other things, promotion to the top ten of the FEI ranking for this age category or advancement to the European Championship Finals. In 2023 Philip will follow in the footsteps of his dad Tomasz, who, like him, is included in the selection for the Olympic Games.
